Hands on History

Come out to The Williamson Museum the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. for hands-on, interactive history lessons & activities.

This program is free for children of all ages.

Field Trips

Field trips are available for K-12th grade, home school, clubs and organizations. Museum field trips are typically 2 hours in length. Full day field trips occur at our annual Pioneer Day event on May 5-6, 2016. Contact us today to learn more.

Traveling Trunk Programs

Exhibit in a trunk. These traveling trunks are available for a two-week rental on a first-come, first-served basis. Trunks cost $25 each with or without a presenter. They include artifacts, hands-on activities, primary sources, and lesson plans for use in the classroom. The lessons meet the TEKS for grade levels K-8 and high school.

Tours

The Williamson Museum offers group tours through the Museum, the Williamson County Courthouse and the Courthouse Square by appointment.

Available Group Tours

A maximum of 20 adults per group can be accommodated in the Museum. School tours of the Museum can be accommodated with a maximum of 40 students per tour, but can be combined with the Courthouse and downtown walking tours for larger groups. One accompanying adult chaperone is required for every 10 students on tour.
By appointment only. A maximum of 20 adults per group can be accommodated for walking tours. Remember that these tours are outside and shade may not be available. Dress accordingly.
School tours of the Williamson County Courthouse are available during the week by appointment. Guided tours of the Courthouse are available Fridays and Saturdays at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Each tour allows for a maximum of 20 people. Stop by the Museum to confirm tours and meeting place. Each tour lasts 35-45 minutes.

Join us for a guided ghost tour of the downtown square the last two weekends of October.
Join us every November for a living history tour of a Williamson County Cemetery. Meet the people who helped shape and settle Williamson County. The theme of the tour changes yearly.
