Upcoming Museum Events

  • Kidz Korner

    Kidz Korner is the new Hands on History! This free, come and go craft is for kids of all ages and features a small exhibit detailing the history behind the craft. Kidz Korner runs from 10am-5pm on the second Saturday of every month.

  • Summer Chores

    Sweep the floor, empty the chamber pot, wash the clothes and do summer chores of the 1870s during June at The Williamson Museum on The Chisholm Trail. Children’s activities on a come and go basis, 10am-3pm, free.

  • Free Courthouse Tours

    Meet at the Museum and get set up with some of our wonderful tour guides and take a trip back in time as you tour our historic County Courthouse. Tours start at 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Tours are free, last about 45 minutes and are handicapped accessible. Please call ahead if you have a party of 7 or more, or to schedule a private tour 512-943-1670. School group tours are offered by appointment, please see information on our Educational Programming page. 

  • Salon: June 12

    Topic: WWI Aftermath: The Versailles Treaty, Gold Star Mothers, and Treatment of Soldiers Speaker: Gerald Faulkner Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 6:30 PM The Wildfire Restaurant 812 S. Austin Avenue, Georgetown, TX 78626 Note: SEATING IS LIMITED! The Salon is an event where anyone can participate in topical discussions with leaders in the fields of science, history, art, archaeology and technology, among other topics. These monthly talks are typically held in the banquet room of Wildfire Restaurant and promote discussion of diverse topics in an informal community setting.
    Admission is free for the presentation, with refreshments offered by Wildfire Restaurant pay-as-go before and after the formal presentation.     Saddle up Cowboys and Cowgirls! Come explore Round Rock’s history and the cowboying spirit of The Chisholm Trail.  Learn about life on the trail and sharpen up your cowboy skills.  Experience week-long hands-on activity camp at a historic Texas homestead for students entering 3rd-6th Grades! Scholarships are available for first time campers. REGISTER ONLINE Location: The Williamson Museum on The Chisholm Trail, 8 Chisholm Trail, Round Rock 78681 Age Range: Entering 3rd-6th Grade Dates of Camp: Monday June 17- Friday June 21             9am-3pm Cost:  Come explore Round Rock’s history and the cowboying spirit of The Chisholm Trail.  Cowboy Camp offers opportunities to learn, play, and create at The Williamson Museum on the Chisholm Trail.
