SUMMARY:September Artist of the Month: Lynn Kessel
DESCRIPTION:November & December Artist of the Month: Kelsey Faykus \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Join us at the Williamson Museum during November and December to experience News You’ll Love Club\, an exhibition by local artist and storyteller Kelsey Faykus. The News You’ll Love Club collection is a series of acrylic pieces created to tell stories worth slowing down for. Each painting captures a real moment\, person\, or story that offers a glimpse of hope and goodness in the world. Designed to be both interesting and fun to look at\, the collection invites viewers to pause\, wonder\, and look a little closer. Beyond the artwork\, each piece carries a story—reminding us that good things are happening all around us. At its heart\, News You’ll Love is an invitation to live a little slower\, pay attention\, and keep our eyes open for opportunities to love and care for the people around us. Kelsey Faykus is an artist and storyteller whose work invites people to slow down\, notice beauty\, and believe that goodness still exists. Her encouragement to begin creating began with her grandmother\, Nanny—a painter\, poet\, screenwriter\, sculptor\, and lifelong artist who taught her to see the world. Kelsey finds herself in wonder of the world around her often and takes deep delight in creating pieces full of whimsy and meaning. Rooted in her belief in a loving Creator God who made us in His image\, Kelsey sees creativity as a way to reflect His beauty and share hope with others. Through painting\, illustration\, and mixed media\, she tells stories of people\, places\, and everyday moments that matter. Her work includes Paint the Town – Taylor\, a series celebrating the places and stories that make her hometown unique\, and News You’ll Love Club\, a monthly mail club pairing hopeful stories\, original art\, and invitations to do good. Through it all\, Kelsey hopes to create art that helps people see the good around them—and become part of it.
