SUMMARY:Artist of the Month: Texas Through Her Lens- Frames of Purpose
DESCRIPTION:Seven photographers from across Texas come together in this powerful Texas Through Her Lens exhibition\, each offering a unique perspective—yet all sharing a passion for storytelling with purpose. Breeann McDaniel calls us to protect the natural wonders that depend on our voices in her series Nature Preserved. Carmen Davailus shares Art with Heart\, stories of women rising after abuse and neglect. Tricia Zeigler celebrates the park she loves and stewards with devotion in her series Austin’s Hidden Gem. Winifred Simon takes us back in time with Vintage Filling Stations. Jennifer Leigh Warner reminds us that “cute” wildlife encounters can do more harm than good in her series Baby Season. Michelle Esclovon preserves the beauty of The Backwaters in her “neck of the woods”. Amy Jasek conveys the enduring spirit of hope in her work\, including her series Pilgrims of Hope.\n_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________\n@TexasThroughHerLens is an Instagram account that is curated by Linda Nickell to discover and support the work of women photographers across Texas. The artwork will be on display in the museum from October 1 to October 31. SUMMARY:Artist of the Month: Abigail Waddle
DESCRIPTION:Artist of the Month: Abigail Waddle\nAbigail Waddle is a South Texas–based artist whose work draws deep inspiration from the wetlands\, wildlife\, and folklore. Working primarily in oil paint and charcoal\, Waddle blends Symbolist influences with themes of nature\, myth\, and the unconscious. Each piece explores the delicate threshold where instinct meets archetype—where something wild and timeless emerges through the quiet rhythms of the natural world. \nHer featured work\, Paramythi\, will be on display at The Williamson Museum throughout the month as part of our Artist of the Month program.
