The Founding of the Williamson Museum
Resources from the Williamson County Historical Commission
Under the dedicated efforts of the Williamson County Historical Commission, members founded the Williamson County Historical Museum as a registered 501 (c)(3) in 1997. Over the next six years, Commission members tirelessly worked to find a home for the museum. Eventually, the Farmers State Bank was converted into the museum displays and offices that we know today and opened its doors in 2003. The Williamson County Historical Museum rebranded to the Williamson Museum in 2008 to broaden the scope of collection, and has continued the same passion for historical preservation set forth by the Historical Commission.
