Up The Chisholm Trail

Did you know that the Chisholm Trail, most famous of all cattle drive trails, went right past the doors of the Williamson Museum? Well the museum wasn’t there yet, but we can still tell you all about the cattle drives that cemented the idea of the Cowboy and the American West in the world’s imagination.

A gallery room with blue and brown walls, a fake cowskin rug over tile flooring and a saddle on a wooden mount in the middle of the exhibit. A docent dressed as a cowboy leans against the wall on the far left as another docent, also dressed as a cowboy, gives a tour to four visitors. a display case with cowboy clothing is in the far right corner, and information panels, a map, and barbed wire hang on the walls.
