Williamson County will celebrate its 175th birthday in historic fashion with events to honor the founding of the county on March 13, 1848. The public is invited to join the party during a celebration presented by the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation on March 10 at the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street in Georgetown.
On Friday. March 10, WilCo will kick off the celebration with a ceremony on the east side of the courthouse starting at 2 p.m. Cake will be served on a first come, first served basis. Entertainment will follow all afternoon and into the evening. Zoodust, a 90s cover band, will end the live music portion of the event with their performance starting at 6:30 p.m. The celebration will then end with a special laser light show which starts at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The fun continues on Saturday in downtown Georgetown with a special birthday party-themed Market Days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Williamson County will add family-friendly activities to the Downtown Georgetown Association’s event. Activities include a bouncy house, train rides for children, face painting and a scavenger hunt. More information is available at www.wilco175.org.
